{tool:fkl-tool} about IKEA's own tools come from IKEA's own pages and app listings.*
Short answer. IKEA's own planners, as its pages list them, work one room or one product at a time: nine room planners, a kitchen planner, and planners for its storage and sofa systems. IKEA Kreativ shows IKEA furniture in a photo or scan of your room. To plan your whole flat at once, with IKEA next to other shops, walk it at eye level and see it lit and in its own sun, use a whole-flat planner such as Flatwalk, free for one flat on Android. To order a fitted IKEA kitchen or wardrobe, use the shop's own planner.

What a whole-flat planner adds
A room planner answers "does this fit in this room". A flat also answers whether the sofa gets through the hall, whether the wardrobe door clears the bed, and which room gets the morning sun, and most homes are furnished from more than one shop.
How to plan IKEA and other furniture in your whole flat
- Get the plan in from a photo, by typing wall lengths or by scanning, and check one wall with a tape.
- Place the big pieces first in every room, as the real products you are considering, from any shop.
- Keep walkways and open sizes: about 90 cm (36 in) for main routes, 60 cm (24 in) beside a bed, room for doors, drawers and sofa beds to open.
- Walk it at eye level, with the lights on in the evening and in your busiest daylight hour.
- Add up the list shop by shop, then take final sizes into the shop's own planner for a fitted kitchen or wardrobe.
How Flatwalk does it
The catalogue holds thousands of real pieces from real shops at true size, IKEA among them, each with your country's price and a link to the shop's own page, and everything you place goes on one "Shop the flat" list with a total and a budget. Flatwalk does not order for you, and prices and stock change, so check the shop first. Its kitchens and wardrobes plan the room around them; to order a fitted system, use the shop's planner.
What Flatwalk does that older planners skip

Lights
Add ceiling lights, lamps and LED strips and see every room lit in the evening.

Your flat in its city
Give the address and the street and buildings around you appear in 3D where the map has them, so you see what is outside each window.

Sun for your address
See where the sun falls on a new sofa or rug, by date and hour.

One piece, in your own room
Through the live camera or in a photo of the room, stand a sofa on your own floor at its true size before you buy it.

Detail
Dozens of door and window types, and kitchens, wardrobes and bathrooms built piece by piece, with real floors, tiles and paints.

Made for a thumb
Tap a wall, a door or a sofa and the choices for that thing appear: move it, turn it, replace it, open it at the shop.
Swipe for more. Every picture is the app itself.
One flat, free
Most people plan one home. For that, Flatwalk costs nothing: no trial clock and no card. The whole flat, real furniture from several shops at its true size, the shopping list with prices, lights, sun and walking are all part of it, and each AI tool gives one free try: a flat from a photo of your floor plan, an AI photo of a room, a piece of furniture made from a shop link. A membership is for people who want more flats or more AI.
Questions people ask
Can I plan my whole flat in IKEA's planner? IKEA's planners page lists planners for single rooms and for single products; we did not find a whole-home planner on its pages. To plan every room at once, use a whole-flat planner and take the final sizes of a fitted kitchen or wardrobe into the shop's own planner.
Does IKEA's kitchen planner work on a phone? Its US planners page says the kitchen planner is not compatible with mobile devices. Its GB kitchen planner page says it works online, with nothing to download.
What is IKEA Kreativ? IKEA's GB help page calls it a free virtual room designer, used in the IKEA app on iOS or Android or on IKEA.com: you erase your existing furniture in a picture of the room and add pieces from the catalogue. Its full room scan needs a device with LiDAR.
Can I mix IKEA furniture with pieces from other shops? In Flatwalk, yes: pieces from different shops go in the same flat, each at its true size, with its own price and link.
Is Flatwalk free? Yes, for planning one flat: every ordinary tool, with no trial clock, and one free try of each AI tool. Memberships add more flats and more AI.
Is Flatwalk made by IKEA? No. Flatwalk is an independent app.
